ValueFax is the first shareware fax program for the Macintosh.
This is a commercial quality, full function product with QuickFax,
fax driver, full reception and conversion of the fax in background,
installer, and an online manual. Versions of this product have
been shipping commercially under different names for several years.
The basic product has been thoroughly tested in a variety of Mac
configurations using a variety of Class 1 and Class 2 modems (this
product will not work with Apple's express modems or with Apple's
Geoport modems).
Why would you want to use this product?
* you bought an external fax modem for your PC but you would
also like to use it with your Mac.
* you bought an external fax modem for the Mac but the software
that came with it is too "lite" for your work. The bundled
software may not even work in your configuration.
* you are not happy with your current fax software because it is
old and does not have all the features of ValueFax. What's more,
your current software looks like it has been ported from its
PC (ugh!) version.
* Your company owns several Macs and you are looking for a site
license instead of buying individual copies for everyone.
Registration:
We are hoping that you will be pleased with the functionality
and value provided by ValueFax. It is important to register the
product if you want to continue to use it. This helps us continue
to invest in the program and to enhance it with features that
users want.
Feel free to give the initial copy you downloaded to others to
try but please do not share your registered copy.
Registration fee without the cash discount is US $23 for individuals,
and US $28 for businesses. Cash discount of US$3 off these is available
to all registrations paid using US$ cash, cheque on a US bank, money
order, travellers cheque, postal money order, British pounds cash and
German Marks cash. Credit card users pay the full fee. We cannot
accept cheques on foreign banks.
Site license fee is $5.50 per Macintosh ($110 minimum). That means,
businesses with between 4 and 20 Macintoshes should send in
US $110. Cash registrations as described above should pay US$100.
Businesses with 100 Macintoshes should send in US $550 but cash
registrations as described above should pay US$500. Over 100 Macs,
write to us. A Site license covers all Macintoshes at one street
address. These include Powerbooks and Duos normally used at that
address. Each person has to run the registration program, even for
a site license.
Please run the ValueFax registration program, fill out the
information, print the form and mail it in with the fee. Please
do not fax us the registration form.
We are now accepting credit card payments if you are using
ValueFax 2.0.8 or later. Its registration program allows you to
specify a credit card number which is then encrypted so you can
send us the registration form via email. Most foreign users have
either sent us US$ cash or a postal money order. We have also
accepted equivalent British pounds and German Marks in cash.
If you send a cheque, allow 3 to 4 weeks to receive your
registration number. Also, we cannot register your product unless
you send a cheque on a US bank. Please do *not* send a Eurocheck.
Our bank charges us $25 to deposit it! If you send cash, cashiers cheque,
traveller's cheque or money order, your registration number will
be mailed within 3 days. Depending on the load, we might even
email or fax the registration number to your fax number.
An unregistered copy is a fully functional version of the
complete product. However, you will not be able to send more than
20 faxes using an unregistered copy. All other functionality will
continue to work whether or not you register.
Unlimited email support is available via email to valuefax@netcom.com
If you run into some problems, please send mail to the above address
before posting to the internet to see if a fix is already available.
